Green Light for Sizewell C

The UK Government has approved the Sizewell C nuclear power station—the first British-owned nuclear plant in over 30 years—with the government taking a majority stake alongside EDF. Funded through a £14.2 billion investment confirmed ahead of the Spending Review, the Suffolk-based project is expected to power six million homes, create over 10,000 jobs, and provide a major boost to the UK economy and energy security. Built under the Regulated Asset Base model, Sizewell C will also support over 3,500 British companies and offer extensive training opportunities, marking a significant step towards energy independence and net zero.
