East Suffolk Council Statement on Sizewell C

Cllr Tom Daly of East Suffolk Council responded to the government’s £14.2bn funding for Sizewell C by reaffirming the council’s preference for renewable energy like wind and solar, while acknowledging the project will now proceed. He emphasised the council's commitment to ensuring the £65 million secured through a Deed of Obligation benefits local communities, and called for similar investment in community energy and domestic insulation. He also urged residents to register by 23 June 2025 to take part in the next stage of the Sea Link planning process, which will impact East Suffolk.
